Chapter 13

Rizor

I ’d found the location when I was younger, wandering through the backroads and ruined cities from decades ago. At that time, I couldn’t understand why my mother was so different from the others. She never wanted to leave the house or spend time with me. So, I found things to do on my own. Exploring the snapper fields had been one of them. Named for the sound they make when the harsh winds blow through them .

I loved it out there, so much that I had a small, one room cabin built far enough away from the road that passerby’s couldn’t see it. I looked at Clara as she took in the beauty of the snappers. I jumped out and pushed the hovercraft into a narrow row of the snappers, covering it with a few more that had fallen as she climbed out and listened to them beating against each other .

“Wow, its beautiful out here,” she whispered .

“It’s why I picked this place,” I told her. “Come on, it’s just through here .”

I took her hand and led her between the tall rows. We walked for seven minutes before a small clearing came into view. Even in the light of the moons, you couldn’t see the cabin until you were almost next to it. The mechanical camouflage blended it in with the scenery seamlessly. I led her up the tree steps in front and placed my hand on the scanner. At once the place roared to life. Solar energy lit up the outside, showing us a swing on the front porch as the door opened .

The octagon shaped room was small, but adequate with a large bed and small kitchenette. Along with a sofa and fireplace, the only room that was closed off was a small adjoining bathroom. The lights dimmed. They were set on a timer and recognized that it was late in the evening .

“Wow,” she said again. “I can’t get over this place. You are just full of surprises, aren’t you ?”

“All good ones I hope. I’m glad you like it. I come out here when I need a break from the rest of the world. Sometimes it’s nice to just fall off the grid,” I told her. “I sent Tasha a message. She will be waiting for us in the morning, but that means we have the whole night to ourselves .”

Without another word, she spun around and threw her arms around my neck, kissing me passionately. I was more than ready for her. I tried to control myself as she grabbed ahold of my shaft through my pants, fumbling with the buckle with her free hand. I pulled her shirt over her head and jerked down her bra. The fabric crackled and ripped, but she didn’t seem to care as I took her nipple into my mouth .

When she got my pants down and her cool hand wrapped tightly around my engorged member, I groaned and picked her up. Carrying her to the bed, I dropped her down and briefly broke away.
